My Big Toe The Lord's Prayer FINISHED!!!!!

I am sooooo extremely EXCITED!!!!  I finally finished My Big Toe The Lord's Prayer for Becky Bee's BAP challenge!!!!  I entered her challenge when she first came out with it back in December 31, 2011.  I have been sending her updates of my WIP on this huge project but unfortunately I had some health issues throughout this year that provided challenges to me of their own.  However, I never let that make me quit the challenge and I perserved through it all.  And it definitely paid off as I stayed up last night to finish up this project.  The project will be framed to hang in my husband's office at work.

I want to thank Becky for offering up this challenge.  It kept me going along with the fact that I will get to enjoy seeing it framed and hanging in my husband's office.

Happy Stitching everyone!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I want to pause and take a moment to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.  We all opened our presents this morning and then started preparing our Christmas lunch.  We like to eat our big meal for our lunch time so we can have the rest of the day for the kids to play games or instant message with their friends far away, cross stitching for me and a day full of resting for my husband.  Ok....so he plays on the Wii with the kids too because he's such a big kid himself!

We pray your day is filled with many wonderful memories as we take time to celebrate this day and KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS!

Blessings to you and your family!

MBT The Lord's Prayer WIP

I have been frantically trying to get this huge project finished up this year.  I am getting close to finishing MBT The Lord's Prayer.  Here is a pic of my WIP thus far so you can see that I'm close to reaching my goal.  I have the floral border to finish up on both sides and the bottom plus the straight xstitch outer border to finish as well.

Back to xstitching!

Remembering Newtown, CT

This poem was forwarded to me in an email and I've seen it circulating everywhere.  I do not want to forget as I've been praying for these families of the children and adults that lost their lives last Friday.

Twas' 11 days before Christmas around 9:38,
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate.
Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
They could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
They were filled with such joy; they didn't know what to say.
They remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
“Where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
“This is heaven" declared a small boy. "We’re spending Christmas at God's house”.
When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their Savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
Then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
And in that moment was joy that only heaven can bring,
those children all flew into the arms of their King.
And as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face.
And as if He could read all the questions she had, ...
He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad."
Then He looked down on earth, the world far below,
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe.
Then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
“Let My power and presence re-enter this land!
May this country be delivered from the hands of fools.
I’m taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools!"
Then He and the children stood up without a sound.
“Come now my children let me show you around."
Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.
All displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
“In the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT."

My stitching day today........

Oh I'm sooo excited!  I've gotten all my errands done and chores done for this week so that I can say that TODAY.....IS MY STITCHING DAY!!!  Wooohoo!!!  I will be working on a project for my husband which should have been done by now.  Yall know how that goes though.....life gets in the way sometimes and sometimes we get sick and all those other excuses that we have that interfere with our stitching.

But today....as I said....is going to my dedicated stitching day.  I want to get as much stitched on My Big Toe The Lord's Prayer for my husband.  This project will hang in his office as I promised him it would.  I'm almost to the finishing but I need more days like today to REALLY get it finished up.

So.....now is a perfect time to get off the computer and get to stitching.  Ted has left to go to work and the kid's are off to school.  Leftovers for lunch so I won't have to spend too much time fixing my lunch so I can get back to xstitching today!!!  (hehe)  Time is precious especially if I want to get this project done before Dec 31, 2012!!!!  Until another time.....

HAPPY STITCHING!!!

20 years ago on Dec 12......

I said "I DO" to the most wonderful loving man!!!  Yes....it was my anniversary on Dec 12 and we are celebrating 20 wonderful years together!!!  Of course, we dated for 4 1/2 yrs before we got married!!!

I don't have a wedding picture scanned in but Ted is the love of my life and I look forward to many more wonderful years together!!!  He took today off to spend with me and I meant to get this posted on Wednesday.  We did take a self portrait picture that Wednesday morning though in front of our Christmas tree.

Nothing fancy for the picture but at least I remembered to take the picture!!!  We have our annual Christmast party at the AFB tonight so maybe I'll get a "fancier and dressed up" picture tonight!

It was wonderful to have him spend the day with me......and only me!!!  Until the kids came home from school later that day of course!!!!

A challenge and 3 new charts.....

I had read about Nicola's challenge as I subscribe to her blog Stitching By A Cornish Sea Shore.  http://stitchingbyacornishseashore.blogspot.com/

Nicola will be turning 50 and has posted a challenge on her blog.  Of course......I just couldn't resist the challenge.  I have 3 The Scarlet Letter charts here.  One is started which is Jane Rees and the other 2 were kitted from way back in 2005 or so.  I know....sad.  But being a military family, we got orders soon after I received those 2 charts and in the stash they went only to stay there to be looked at over the following years.

My best friend was the one who introduced me to The Scarlet Letter.   So yes.....Kimberly....I blame you!  hehe    But it wasn't a bad thing but a good thing as she introduced me to a new style of xstitching....samplers.  Needless to say, that love of those samplers never died in me.  I would take out my 2 charts (that I bought way back when) and look them over the years but of course, one project or another would take my time to finish or draw me away from them.

Then one day, a dear sweet friend, gifted me with The Scarlet Letter Jane Rees chart.  I was living in Germany because that was where were stationed a the time.  So I drove to Tissage Gander in France to buy special fabric for this Jane Rees project.  I knew she was going to be huge and so I wanted to make sure I got a big enough piece for her.  Then what happened?  The Air Force moves us from Germany back to the states to AZ where I am now.

I had seen Nicola's challenge from her blog, and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to finish Jane Rees.  But I wanted a smaller project to do also for the challenge.  So what's a girl to do but GO SHOPPING on The Scarlet Letter's website.  I couldn't decide exactly which one chart I wanted to start with so I bought 3 smallerish ones to decide from.   Plus I wanted to make the most of my shipping and handling charge.  Good excuse .... right???  I could have bought a chart from my LNS but I knew most of what she had were medium to large SL charts as I had looked there before.  Here is what I bought:

I am thinking of starting The Mary Baker Sampler.  I love the saying on this one which I think I'm so drawn to the chart.  I'm sure I have some fabric in my stash that will accomodate this sampler and then I will see what fibers I will stitch it in. If I don't have the right threads, I'm sure my local needlework stop will have what I need.  I will show you the posts as I start this new one and the progress on my Jane Rees as well.  I know this is not a competition but I say it will definitely be "motivation" to get these charts xstitched and hanging on my walls.

Until another time ....... HAPPY STITCHING!

Great News tonight......

Ohhh we are rejoicing with our daughter tonight because she got her acceptance letter to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville!!!  I'm soooo happy and proud of her!!!!  I will be very sad when we have to actually move her to TN because I will still be living here in AZ for now.  But on the bright side, we can skype and call all we want to her in TN.  Isn't technology great???!!!!   At least she can fly home at Christmas time and my husband and I both still have parents living in the area where she will be going to college in case of an emergency.  She will graduate this coming May and I'm spending as much time with her now as I can.  Yes...we are very close mother and daughter!  Grace.....I'm SOOOO PROUD OF YOU!!!

Thank you for visiting my blog and rejoicing in my news!!!!
