February TUSAL....

Well I think I am a day late on posting my ORTs for February.  I think I misread it on It's Daffycat blog.  But I am only a day late.  It was very busy weekend for my family that I won't bore you with the details with.

Here is where I am for my February ORTs though.  I had quite a bit and I hope to have just as much all year long!!!

Happy Stitching everyone!

February Smalls SAL.....

Yeah!  We get to post about all our Smalls SAL.  This group is hosted by our lovely Heather of Stitching Lotus.  You can click on the link above or on her blog name.

I was stitching a lot of MBT 10 Commandments which I had shared earlier this month so I did not accomplish as many small ornaments this month as I had hoped.  Oh well.  There is next month.

I stitched Heart in Hand XOXO for my daughter's Valentine present in her box of Valentine goodies this year.  I found the backing fabric I wanted to use and then matched the floss to the colors in the backing fabric.  This is stitched on 28ct Opalescent White Lugana with Sampler Thread Buckeye Scarlett and Bubblegum Pink along with WDW Molasses.

Next I stitched PS 2016 Santa for my monthly ornament!  I did change the green from 501 to 895.  I like the darker green better.

I didn't really like how stiff the Polyfil was when I stuffed this up.  It was Polyfil brand, but the packaging was WAY DIFFERENT than I had ever bought in all the many years of using Polyfil and it felt different in my hands.  I went back to JoAnn Fabrics and got this brand which I like WAY BETTER.

This is JN Tiny Toile Heart.  It was a small chart that came with the silk included as well as the lovely crystal for the attachment.  I just finished it as a pincushion.

The last small project I stitched for this month was JN Frost Flowers!!!  I already had the whimzi in my stash as I'm trying to get all my whimzi's completely stitched this year.  I only have a few more.

Thank you for taking the time to read through all of my Smalls finishes!  Now....back to stitching!

HAPPY STITCHING EVERYONE!

Happy Valentine's Day....

YEAH!!!  I was able to get this little Valentine freebie from iStitch Designs finished!!!  You can click on Carol's blog name to get to her website.

I stitched this adorable design 1 strand over 2 on 40ct white linen using Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe Christmas Red thread.  Although after I had turned it and had it all stuffed up, I am realizing that I may have left a little too much between the stitching and the finishing fabric.  It's all stuffed and I'm not taking all that Polyfil back out.  I think it still looks cute though.

I did pick my finishing fabric BEFORE I actually stitched this.  I wanted to make sure the floss matched the finishing fabric.  Sometimes I forget to do that before stitching a small quick project.  I just used what was in my stash and I may restitch it again and make 1 in a pink color.  I will have to look at my finsihing fabrics to decide.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY and most of all......HAPPY STITCHING!!!

MBT 10 Commandments FINISHED!!!!

Come and HAPPY DANCE with me as I finished stitching My Big Toe 10 Commandments!!!!  WOOHOO!!!  I put the last of the stitches in on last Saturday night, but DH and I had a formal dinner to attend so I was not able to blog about it.  I'm sure though if you heard a small...ok loud...squeal that would have been from me when I put in that last stitch!!!  However, I did manage to get the picture taken so I would know exactly when I finished it before leaving for the dinner.

Here she is!!!  Now.....to take her to be framed!!!!

Thank you for allowing me to share my progress on this project with you.  I hope I have not bored you to tears with it.

It is stitched on 36ct Legacy Edinburgh Linen by Picture This Plus using 2 7/8 skeins of Gloriana Midnight Silk thread and 1 skein of NPI #503 (the red accent color).  I stitched this with one strand over 2 threads for the entire project with the exception of the Hebrew word underneath "I AM".   That is stitched with one strand of Midnight over one linen thread.

I will be sure to post a picture of it when it gets framed.

Happy Stitching everyone!

Happy Friday and a new project to start.....

Happy Friday everyone!!!!  I just had to post a quick picture of what I am going to stitch for myself.  WOW!!!  Yes.....this project will be for me.  I find that I stitch so much for everyone throughout the year that I do try to get a project for myself in throughout the year for myself.  And this one is not a B.O.P.!  (Big ole project is my acronym to say versus using the other name that people tend to use.)

Because I am leaving up my little Whimzi tree that I put every year for Christmas, I thought it needed a new Whimzi for this Christmas.  I meant to start this back in January when we were having some snow here but unfortunately, that didn't happen.

This is JN Frost Flower chart and supplies to stitch it up,  Yes I do have the Whizmi to frame it with but I just forgot to pull it out to photograph with the other supplies.  One great thing about JN whimzi's they can be made in to small ornaments without using the frames.  That is what I will be doing once I have used up all my Whimzi's!

Of course with it being February, I needed to change out my scissor fob for something with Love on it and what better choice than SB Love scissor fob!!!  I made this long ago and I pull it out every year to use.  Yes.....I do change my scissor fobs for the seasons as well as my ORT catchers.  My husband always asks when I buy a new pair of scissor if I really do need another pair and do I actually use them all?  Well OF COURSE I USE THEM ALL!!!  What better excuse to change your scissor fob and scissors for the different seasons and holidays??!!!  LOL   Only other cross stitchers can understand this concept.

I'm off to stitch the day away!!!  Hopefully I can complete this one today as I have NO CHORES to do today!!!  YEAH ME!!!

Happy Stitching!

WIP Wednesday.....

Well it is time for my WIP and 1st of the month report for the Stitcher's Garden Vintage SAL.   As you most know, my chart really isn't all that vintage.  Well if you call it being in my stash ever since it was released, then YES....it's Vintage!

I have been concentrating on working on MBT 10 Commandments as I was nearing the end of it and that has taken my attention away from Mirabilia's The Lady of the Flag.  I started to stitch on her the other day so I could have some progress to report only to find out that I had stitched one area 2X.  So I ripped out the wrong portion and now have it restitched in correctly.

I have checked my stash and I did have the Kreinik Braid that is used in the flag pole so hopefully by my next post on Feb 15, it will be somewhat stitched in!!!

Thank you for taking the time to read and follow my blog.

HAPPY STITCHING!
