Dec Smalls post.....

Heather of Stitching Lotus is our host for our monthly Smalls SAL.  You can click on her blog name, Stitching Lotus, to find out more about this wonderful SAL.

I know I have been very negligent since my last blog post.  I apologize for that once again, but I also went back home for Thanksgiving and then my husband and I did some traveling for our 26th anniversary!

But for that's for a later post to share pictures with you.  For now, I am posting for our December Smalls post of some ornaments I made for this years Christmas gifts to close friends.

This first small is from Heartstring Samplery called Winter Snow.  It was such a fun stitch, and I stitched it with the linen and threads called for.  I made a small beaded hanger, and I chose to leave a little more space out from the stitching portion of the stocking.  I have linen to stitch this one for myself for the new year.

This 2nd ornament is by Handblessings called Sharing The Christmas Story.

The last one I can not remember the designer's name.  I am so sorry.  This was also a Christmas gift for a friend.

That is all I have to share for my Smalls this month.  I will be stitching the rest of the day today and ringing in the New Year with my family!

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND HAPPY STITCHING!!!

Happy Veteran's Day

I just wanted to stop and take time today to say THANK YOU to all our Veteran's of past, present and future for what you have done for our country.  The sacrifices are NOT forgotten and I will not take them for granted either.  The service and your sacrifice and time are greatly appreciated!!!  My husband is one of those veterans currently serving, and I know what he does for our country!!!

Smalls October post.....

Heather of Stitching Lotus is our Smalls SAL host.  She mentioned that she was late posting which was an added benefit to me for getting this little project totally finished up to share with you for my Smalls post.

This is SB Midnight Garden stitched and framed in their Crow tray.  I have had this stitched for about a week now, but I just hadn't done the "finishing" into it's tray until just today.  What perfect timing for it to be on Halloween none the less.

I did have some other smalls that I finished stitching this month but I forgot to take their picture as I wanted to make sure to get my Smalls posted so I can go enter it on Heather's blog.  This will give me time to get some "finishing finishing" done on the other projects.

Happy Stitching everyone!

Late TUSAL report

Sharon of It's Daffycat is our host for our TUSAL report.  She was late posting the date, but I am late posting my TUSAL picture because I was out of town.  Yes once again I was out of town.  But it was a good time being out of town because I was at a cross stitching retreat.

Here is what I have for my ORTs.  I have quite a few as I am trying to make up for lost time.

Now back to stitching today.  I have the house to myself this week so I need to stay focused and on track for accomplishing a lot this week.

Happy Stitching everyone!

September Smalls posting....2 days late

Well it seems like all of my blog posting this year have been late.  I should ask...why start now for being on time, but that's the wrong attitude that I was brought that way.  So I am just going to go with it for now and publish my Smalls for September just a mere 2 days late.

Heather of Stitching Lotus is our host this year for posting of our Smalls and I know she would want you to check out her blog as well.  I am sure she is like the rest of us....life happened and we just go on with it.

I managed to get 4 finished stitching this month....one being just hot off the needle last night.  That would be JN Witchy's Sister Mouse.  I hope to get her assembled this week, but when I do get around to it, I will make another post to share with you.

This next one is from Blue Ribbon Designs chart Small Tokens of Affection. I will eventually make this into a small pincushion and it is stitched on 28ct Antique White Jobelan using HDF premium silks.  If you want to know the numbers for the silk, please leave a comment and I can go pull the colors again to tell you.  I don't have them at the moment next to the computer.  I stitched a 2nd BRD pincushion, but I can't show it yet because the person hasn't gotten it yet.

I needed a little finish for the upcoming October Halloween holiday.  If you know me, I have NEVER been a huge Halloween person until one year I saw this wonderful "FUN Halloween Round Robin" project.  So I collected all the charts to do one just like the participants of the Round Robin  Well needless to say, that Round Robin became a long lost UFO that is still not finished to this point.  Maybe I will pull it out and try to get it finished up.

Getting to my point of what I was getting at, I will now stitch Halloween pieces but ONLY .... ONLY ... if they are FUN type Halloween projects. So no scary projects will every be stitched nor hung i my house.

But I did fall in love with this little SB project called Spooky Sheep!  Now I need your help!  Should I frame it or just make it into a cut little pinchushion to set up to display.  Leave a comment and tell me how you would finish it!

Last project finished this month was my PS Santa for my favorite Krispy Kreme clerk in Knoxville, TN.  Needless to say, I have seen him a LOT traveling back and forth between OH and TN.  So ... I would always bring back a dozen (maybe 2 dozen) doughnuts.  Let me just say that most of that 2nd dozen was frozen once I got back to eat at a later time.

So continuing on with my tradition of giving Tim his annual ornament, this is PS Santa 2000.  I hope to get this one assembled into an ornament as well this week.  I foresee spending quite a bit of time in my sewing room!!!

That's all I have to share for now for my Smalls this month.  After seeing all this on my Smalls post, I did get quite a bit stitched for this month!!

Happy Stitching!

TUSAL time.....

Wow This is the first time this year that I have been able to participate in Sharon's TUSAL report!!!  You can join in on our fun of collecting our ORTs to show what we have accomplished by going to her blog to see about it.  Her blog name is It's Daffycat.

You can see here that I had a lot this past month.  I have been trying to get caught up some this year.

I hope to share in the next few days the project that has been keeping me busy one this year.  So be sure to check back!

Happy Stitching!

August Smalls posting....a little late

Ok I know I am late in posting my August Smalls Post, but I had caught a cold and it just kept me from doing some things I wanted and needed to do.  However Ted was off last Friday I wanted to spend time (when I was feeling up to it) with him.

I didn't want to miss out on posting my smalls for the past month.  Heather of Stitching Lotus is our gracious host for our Smalls SAL.  I know I have been absent earlier in this summer months but I am trying to keep up when I can and post as time has allowed.

Here are a few finishes I have things I have managed to get stitched up.  I hope to get the actual "finishing" here in the next few weeks.

This is Spring Mouse from JN Spring Mouse in a House chart.  I know the date shows it for today's date but that is because I just took the picture so I could post it here.  Guess I should have taken the date off the picture.  I will try to remember that next time.  This was such a fun mouse to stitch up for my birthday present to myself this year. (LOL)

This next finish is Erica Michaels Day 5 berry.  The linen and threads used were what was called for on the chart.

Last is the LHN Farmhouse Christmas Horsin' Around which was the 2nd chart.  I know I am late in keep up with this series, but it has been a wonderful "take along" project when I have been traveling so much lately.

That is all I have to share for the smalls this past month.  Now to get started for September's Small projects!!!

Happy Stitching!

Son off to college.....

I am so proud of our son being able to go off to college that I wanted to share a few pictures of move in day!!!  Daniel is the last of our kids to go to college and as some now say we are empty nesters.  But are we really???  Physically, yes but we are such a close knit family that we really are NEVER empty nesters.  He will still come home at Christmas time and spring breaks and over the summer.  Our daughter who is now married might be able to visit during the summer but that all depends on where we are stationed with the AF.  She got a job teaching at Bearden High School in Knoxville after she graduated this past May.  I hope to post pictures of their graduations in the next day or so and of her wedding.

Daniel is going to the University of TN Knoxville college which is the same college that his sister went to as well as Ted and I.  He is taking engineering classes, and we couldn't be prouder of him.  I wanted to wait for him to have a few days of classes underway before I posted about him going just in case he changed his mind after the first couple of engineering classes.

Here is move in day which I took from where I posted on Facebook because I didn't take my camera in when I moved him into the dorm.  Yes....he was so much easier to move into the dorm as he said he didn't want to take much ..... unlike his sister who I think took her entire bedroom. (I can't complain on that as I took a lot to my dorm when I lived there as well.  I just want to say I am NOT complaining about moving Grace in and out with all her stuff.)  One unique thing is that both of our kids will have lived in the same dorm that I lived in when I went to UTK (Univ of TN Knoxville).

I am sorry about the messed up comforter for his bed.  It WAS straightened when he and I made the bed, but he had to climb back up there to put his clock on top of the closet after we found it.  Now whether it stays straightened throughout the semester.....that's on Daniel to look at it everyday...not me.  Hopefully I have taught him well enough to make his bed everyday.

Moving Daniel in was not that hard at all especially when his dad's plane got delayed a day from being on a business trip.  So I was thankful we had less to move into his room.

This last picture of him is him standing in front of Hess Hall dormatory on move in day.

His dorm has where the girls live on the left side of the dorm and guys live on the right side but not on the same floors.

This last picture of Daniel and Grace last Friday night.  She came to have dinner with him along with Grace's husband, Esteban, who is a Senior and an architect major there at UTK.  But for some reason he wasn't in the picture.  I am SO THANKFUL Daniel and Grace are so close even though they are 5yrs apart in age.  They like hanging out with each other which Ted and I have always said we have felt so blessed by this!!

Thank you for taking the time to read all this, and I hope to be posting more regularly.  It has been a very trying year for me as most of you know.

Until next post......HAPPY STITCHING!!!

July Smalls SAL post......

Wow!!! Yes can it be??  I am FINALLY able be back to blogging and to make a Smalls Post.  Our Smalls SAL is hosted by Heather of Stitching Lotus which you can click on her blog name to see what everyone has been stitching lately.  I did get the email where I could have included my past 3 months of Smalls project.  However, due to certain situations, I never got back to posting my smalls on Heather's SAL but that is ok.

Here are the 2 smalls I managed to get stitched for this month.  I am still working on our daughter's graduation present which I can't post ANY pictures of it whatsoever.  It's still a surprise and she knows it will be late.

The first one is Erica Michaels Day 4 berry.  I used the fabric and floss called for on the chart.

The 2nd smalls that I stitched this month is Erica Michaels Sweet Freedom Berry.  I used 35ct Natural linen with Hand Dyed Fibers regular silk in the following colors:  White 5200, Rubbed Darkest Mermaid, Yellow Spice 4165, Examplar Cocoa Bear, Zebra Dove 5249, Rubbed Sampler Red, BeLeaved, and Burnished Bronze.

The "finishing" work of actually assembling these into the actual berry form will take place here soon and pictures will follow then.

It is SO WONDERFUL to be back to blogging. I have had so much to happen this year that blogging just had to take a hiatus on my part.

I look forward to sharing more pictures of my stitching and family.....especially some wedding pictures of our daughters recent wedding, both kids graduations and more family pictures.

Happy Stitching Everyone!!!

This is Erica Michae'ls Day 1 berry stitched for April's Smalls post.

Here is Erica Michael's Day 2 berry for May Smalls post.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

I just wanted to post a Happy Mother's Day to my mom, my sister, my mom friends and all the other Moms out there!!!  It was great spending more time with her over this Mother's Day weekend while I was already in town for our daughter's graduation from college.  I will post about that tomorrow!

I was going to post a picture of my mom that I took this morning but being tired at the moment, the drive home, the constant busyness of life lately if you know what has been going on, I am too tired to figure out how to get the picture from my Facebook page to my blog post.  You can see our picture on my Facebook page.

I'm off to stitch the rest of the night away!  I am SOOOOO NEEDING some serious stitching time!

Happy Stitching and Happy Mother's Day!!!

Mar Smalls SAL

Heather of Stitching Lotus is our host for our Smalls SAL.  I know I am several days late from the March posting date, but most of you have read on my blog that I have been extremely busy helping my mom after the passing of my dad.

Now....here is what I have managed to stitch while helping my mom.

Erica Michael's Partidge Berry is only stitched as I didn't have my finishing supplies with me.

LHN Little Red Barn was my 2nd finish for March.

Hopefully this week or next while I am still at home I can get around to actually doing the "finishing work" on these 2 projects.

Happy Stitching everyone!

Happy Easter......

I know I have been very absent on my blog but I have been trying to help my mom a lot after my dad's passing back in January.  I have always said I would take care of my parents no matter what and no matter how far I lived away since we are a military family. So my blog posts may be a little sparse for a while but I hope to get back into posting more this year.

But I did want to post this picture for my Easter Blog Post today.

I pray that you have had a wonderful Easter Sunday.  I thoroughly enjoyed our church service this morning and spending the day with my family.

February Smalls SAL....

Heather of Stitching Lotus is our host each month for our Smalls SAL.  If you want to know more about it, please click on the link above or her blog name.

I have been stitching a lot this month, but I can only show you a few small things that have been stitched.  I am working a bigger project that I cannot show any pictures at this time.  I will eventually.

I gave this BBD pincushion to Kimberly of Samplers Not Forgotten as her Chriistmas gift this past Dec.  We had done a swap of holiday gifts last year that for our birthday's, we gave each other an ornament so that when Christmas came, we gave gifts that we would have given on our birthdays.  We are back to the normal way to exchange this year.

I hope to have more to show next month.

Until then....Happy Stitching!

January Smalls SAL

Heather of Stitching Lotus is our host once again for our 2018 Smalls SAL. Be sure to click on her link to see what everyone has been up to for smalls stitching.

I pulled a UFO out of my stash to finish up for a small finish.  This is CCN Dear Santa, and I used the called for fabric and threads.

The next thing I started was Erica Michael's Nativity Berry.  I managed to get it all stitched but I will do the finishing it into the actual berry sometime next week hopefully.

That's all I have to share this month for smalls.  I hope to have more next month.

Happy Stitching!

I am back home but with sad news.....

Good morning everyone.  As you know I haven't posted much this month as I was going to be taking our daughter back to college and then travel onto Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN where my dad had been transported due to a heart attack.  I arrived on Sat, Jan 6 to give my sister and our mom a break from being in the hospital with my dad while he had his quadruple bypass and 2 valve replacements.  They left that night to go home to Cleveland, TN to get some rest for what we thought would be 2 or 3 days.

However, my dad took a turn for the worse and coded at 2:15a.m. Sunday Jan 7.  The doctors and nurses worked on him many hours after that last heart attack and also shocked him numerous times.  The doctors took him back in to have the balloon surgery in hopes of helping his heart not work so hard and soon to be on to more recovery.  After the balloon surgery, my dad's heart was not responding like the doctors had hoped and told me to call my sister and mom to come back.  They did get back in time before the doctors said that they could not do anything else for my dad.  So we asked for him to be removed from life support.  My dad would not have wanted to be left on life support.

We said our goodbyes to my dad who was 75 years old, and he passed away at 10:11a.m. Sun Jan 7.  I will miss him dearly, but I know that he is not suffering from arthritis, no more back pain and definitely not any chest pain.

As I posted on Facebook, out of our suffering and loss of losing our dad, he was an organ donor so in hopes that our loss was someone else's gain at life.

Until another post.....Blessings.

Happy New Year Everyone....

Yes I know I am VERY LATE in posting a Happy New Years message.  So much has happened and I will only inform you of the overall details.

We went home to TN to spend Christmas with family.  On a sad note, my dad had a heart attack during our family visit with him, but SO THANKFUL that my husband was able to perform CPR on him.  So life has been in an upheaval.  He has since been transferred from Knoxville, TN to Nashville, TN where he had a quadruple bypass and 2 valve replacements.  He is doing somewhat better, but I will be taking Grace back to college in Knoxville and travel onto Nashville to give my sister a break.  I will be back soon blogging away and posting pictures if I have any finishes.

Blessings to everyone and HAPPY STITCHING!
